“Unlock the future for children” is a joint UNITED24 fundraiser with alyona alyona and Jerry Heil, Visa and Oschadbank

Ukraine’s Eurovision Song Contest 2024 artists, alyona alyona x Jerry Heil, held a press conference before their departure for Malmö, Sweden. They announced the 'Unlock the Future for Children'  fundraiser. Along with the UNITED24 fundraising platform, Visa and Oshchadbank, the artists will raise 10,000,000 UAH to rebuild the Velykokostromska school in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The first donation of $100,000 was made by the Aurora multimarket chain, right there at the event. 

Teachers of the school, Tetyana and Liudmyla, attended the press conference to support the artists and pass them a powerful symbol - a symbolic copy of the wooden key that has been handed over to first-graders on September 1 since 1977. Despite the terrible shelling that destroyed the school, the key was preserved and is now also a symbol of the resilience of Ukrainians during the full-scale war. Another 23 copies were made for Eurovision participants who will support the fundraiser. 

This year, we have a key mission — not only to represent Ukraine with dignity at one of the world's biggest music contests, but also to help raise funds for Velykokostromska School, which was destroyed by a russian missile. We were very touched to receive the key to the school and believe that the “Unlock the Future for Children” message will reach the hearts of everyone participating in Eurovision.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 3,583 educational facilities have been damaged during these two years of war, and 394 were completely destroyed. Most of those institutions affected (1888) are schools. For two years now, 917,800 pupils have been studying remotely. 

Almost 2000 Ukrainian schools have been destroyed by shelling. russia has deprived our children of the opportunity not only to receive a quality education, but also to grow up in a community of friends. Thanks to the joint fundraiser with alyona alyona x Jerry Heil, we will be able to draw the world's attention to this problem and return childhood to 250 pupils from Velykokostromska School. We are very grateful to our regular partner Aurora for the first donation and want to encourage everyone to join in. So everyone who makes a donation of $10 or more for the reconstruction of the school will take part in a raffle of a personal video message from alyona alyona x Jerry Heil.

The raffle will run until May 25 inclusively. All donations made using Ukrainian Visa and Oshchadbank cards will be doubled. The number of donations from any one person is unlimited.
